The Taiwan Financial Ombudsman Institution (FOI) Board of Directors convened and elected Mr. Jan-Juy Lin as the Chairman of the Board. Prior to joining FOI, Mr. Lin was the former Commissioner of Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC).

He has more than 20 years of research experience in insurance law, regulation of the financial market and alternative risk transfer. The key positions he had previously held include: Board Governors of the Taiwan Insurance Institute (TII), and the Taiwan Residential Earthquake Insurance Fund (TREIF).

For the future development of FOI, Chairman Lin indicated that he will enhance the effectiveness of FOI by building on the foundation that the former Chairman had established. As financial consumer awareness increase, FOI will follow our competent authority’s guidance to protect the interests of financial consumers and to fairly, reasonably, and effectively handle financial consumer disputes. Furthermore, FOI will continue conduct education and awareness programs for financial consumers to prevent and resolve the financial dispute, while improving the wholesome development of financial market.
